Frequently Asked Interview Questions (With Answers & Solution Guidelines)
Root Cause Analysis & Non-Compliance
- Question:“How do you handle a situation where a process owner disagrees with a critical audit finding regarding internal controls?”
- Answer & Solution Context: Emphasize an evidence-based approach. Present verified operational data, policy clauses, and risk exposure assessments objectively. Pivot the discussion toward joint problem-solving by identifying the root cause rather than assigning blame, and collaboratively develop a practical Action Plan with realistic timelines.
Audit Execution & Risk Assessment
- Question:“What methodology do you follow when prioritizing process audits across different plant operations?”
- Answer & Solution Context: Explain applying a risk-based audit approach. Evaluate factors such as financial impact, safety/regulatory exposure, history of process non-compliance, and operational changes. High-risk or core manufacturing/procurement functions are prioritized to ensure critical controls remain robust.
