About Company

Headquartered in Amaravati, Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH) is Andhra Pradesh’s premier innovation institution operating on a Hub-and-Spoke framework across five regional foundations. Formed under the umbrella of the Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society (APIS) and guided by leadership from the Tata Group, government bodies, and top academia, RTIH drives inclusive, state-wide entrepreneurial transformation.

The Vijayawada Spoke focuses specifically on spearheading regional startup incubation, social and rural innovation, MSME modernization, student entrepreneurship programs, and district-level venture scaling across its assigned central AP districts.

Job Description

The position of Head – Incubation is a key leadership role responsible for conceptualizing, executing, and scaling the entire incubation and startup acceleration apparatus at RTIH Vijayawada. Rather than managing routine administrative tasks, the incumbent acts as the core driver for startup discovery, venture mentoring, and cohort management.

Selected candidates will establish standard operating procedures for startup onboarding, curate sector-specific acceleration cohorts, connect early-stage founders with venture funds/investors, and direct last-mile entrepreneurial outreach across all districts under the Vijayawada Spoke.

  • Education: MBA / PGDM or Master’s degree specializing in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
  • Experience Threshold: Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience leading startup incubators, corporate accelerators, venture funds, or national/state innovation missions.

2. Technical & Domain Competencies

  • Startup Lifecycle Expertise: In-depth knowledge of business model validation, seed funding, venture capital, IP management, and product-market fit.
  • Public-Private Frameworks: Strong understanding of government grant schemes (DST, MeitY, MSME), PPP models, and CSR-funded incubator programs.
  • Ecosystem Leadership: Proven ability to build networks across venture capitalists, industry leaders, academic researchers, and government agencies.

  • Expand and manage RTIH’s mentor network of domain experts, industrial partners, and corporate leaders.
  • Organize pitch days, investor demo days, and mentoring clinics to help portfolio startups secure seed and Series A funding.
  • Collaborate with corporate partners to unlock research lab access, industrial testbeds, and market access for startups.

3. District-Level Outreach & Grassroots Innovation

  • Oversee grassroots innovation programs, hackathons, and college connect initiatives across all districts in the Vijayawada Spoke.
  • Operationalize Training of Trainers (ToT) programs for district field teams to surface rural, social, and student innovations.
  • Drive targeted support initiatives for women entrepreneurs, local MSMEs, and rural innovators.
