Role Summary

The Graduate Mechanical Engineer role at Sidel is a “Cradle-to-Grave” machine design position. Unlike a general CAD drafter, you are involved in Order Fulfillment. This means you aren’t just drawing parts; you are tracking a specific machine from the customer’s order through to the factory floor. You will learn how massive, modular packaging lines—often running at speeds of 80,000+ bottles per hour—are engineered for precision and durability.

Company Culture & Insights

Sidel carries the rigorous “Swedish-European” engineering DNA of the Tetra Laval Group. The culture is built on Sustainability and Precision. In the Pune office, which serves as a major global engineering hub, expect a professional environment where “Sizing Calculations” are taken very seriously—meaning you’ll apply the physics of torque, tension, and thermal expansion daily. Sidel values a “Passion for Partnering,” so you will likely interact with cross-functional teams in manufacturing and supply chain.

Why We Recommend This Job

  • Global Tech Leader: Sidel has been innovating for 170 years. Having Sidel on your resume is an immediate endorsement of your technical rigor.
  • End-to-End PLM Exposure: You will gain hands-on experience in PLM/ERP workflows, a skill that is essential for moving into Senior Engineering or Operations Management.
  • FMCG Stability: The food and beverage packaging industry is recession-resistant. People always need safe, packaged goods, ensuring long-term career stability.

Career Growth Potential

Sidel is a fantastic launchpad into Industrial Automation. From this graduate role, you can advance into:

Sustainability Specialist: Focusing on the R&D of energy-efficient and PET-reducing packaging technologies.

Lead Machine Design Engineer: Taking ownership of entire machine sub-systems.

Project Manager: Overseeing the delivery of multi-million dollar packaging lines for global clients like Coca-Cola or Nestlé.

Skills You’ll Gain

  • Precision 3D Modeling: Mastering complex assemblies and kinematic simulations.
  • Sizing & Selection: Learning how to calculate the exact motor power, gear ratios, and material strengths required for high-speed machines.
  • Order Fulfillment Logic: Understanding how a global engineering company manages thousands of parts to build a machine on a strict deadline.

Salary & Benefits Info

  • Estimated Salary: For a Graduate Engineer in Pune’s high-end industrial sector, the Total Compensation (TC) typically ranges from ₹5,50,000 to ₹8,50,000 per annum.
  • Benefits: Sidel offers a “Permanent” contract with global-standard benefits, including comprehensive medical care, life insurance, and access to the “Sidel Academy” for continuous professional training.
