Job Description
The Software Developer Intern at SSOE is a “Business-Technical Hybrid.” Because SSOE creates custom software to fit specific end-user needs, you won’t just be a “code monkey.” You will attend requirement meetings, assist in database architecture, and create “How-To” documentation. You are essentially a Junior Software Consultant embedded in a technical firm.
Requirements
- Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited Computer Science or related program.
- Academic Level: Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
- Co-op Status: Must be registered with your university’s Office of Professional Experience (Co-op office).
- Skills: A command of (or strong willingness to learn) the SSOE Standard Developer Technologies listed above.
Roles and Responsibilities
- • Build custom software to fit the needs of end users
- • Delivers end-to-end solutions to the business with oversight as part of a team
- • Collaborates on project plans for new work
- • Learns how other teams use technologies
- • Learns internal team standards
- • Attends meetings with end-users to determine requirements and work with project team on how to proceed.
