As a Product Design Engineer at our Pune site, you will be the architectural force behind new and evolving automotive products. You are responsible for ensuring every design aligns with rigorous project timelines, manufacturing capabilities, and cost-efficiency targets. You will transform complex engineering concepts into high-precision CAD models and manage the comprehensive documentation that brings these designs to life.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Automotive preferred).
• Experience: Proven track record in Design & Development within an industrial or automotive environment.
• Process Knowledge: Familiarity with Project Management methodologies and program standards.
• Software Mastery: Advanced training in program-specific CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX).
• Technical Savvy: Deep understanding of primary manufacturing methods (e.g., injection molding, stamping).
• Global Mindset: Strong communication skills in English and an ability to collaborate across multicultural teams..

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conceptualization & Design: Generate conforming designs, parameters, and calculations based on guidance from lead engineers.
• Manufacturing Feasibility: Develop designs that are not only innovative but also manufacturable. You will perform critical calculations for mass, strength, and overall mechanical performance.
• Documentation & Change Management: Oversee and maintain all engineering release and change documents to ensure a seamless design-to-production transition.
• Analytical Solutions: Provide diverse design alternatives for every project, supported by rigorous analysis and technical recommendations.
• Technical Mentorship: Direct and verify the output of Designers and Detailers, ensuring technical accuracy across the board.
• Safety & Compliance: Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) studies and ensure all products comply with international government regulations and customer specifications.
• CAD Integrity: Maintain mastery over specific customer CAD data requirements and apply them meticulously.
• Collaboration: Actively contribute to product design reviews and (potentially) manage CAD operators to meet project milestones.
