- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university.
- Professional Tenure: Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience directly within a factory, processing plant, logistics hub, or heavy infrastructure asset site.
- Maintenance Methodologies: Solid knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and root cause analysis techniques.
- Software Foundations: Hands-on experience working inside enterprise asset management systems or ERP software (such as SAP PM, Oracle, or Maximo) along with high proficiency in MS Excel.
- Regulatory & Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of Indian industrial safety acts, factory regulations, and corporate HSE standards.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, expert vendor negotiation capabilities, and a proven ability to lead a diverse workforce under tight deadlines.
Roles and Responsibilities
- 1. Engineering Asset Management & Maintenance
- Schedule Execution: Design, implement, and track monthly preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all equipment, structures, and utility networks across the site.
- Breakdown Containment: Lead real-time troubleshooting for sudden mechanical, electrical, or structural asset failures, implementing swift corrective solutions to minimize system downtime.
- Reliability Engineering: Perform regular engineering audits and reliability checks on critical machines, establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to extend asset operational lifecycles.
- 2. Financial & Inventory Control
- Inventory Optimization: Manage the site engineering store, balancing spare parts inventory counts to avoid stockouts while minimizing working capital overheads.
- OPEX Budget Tracking: Assist the Operations Head in drafting the annual O&M operating expenditure (OPEX) budget, tracking monthly variances to eliminate resource leakage.
- Vendor Sourcing: Review vendor quotes, draft service-level agreements (SLAs) for contract maintenance providers, and oversee third-party facility management teams.
- 3. Team Leadership & Corporate Compliance
- Workforce Direction: Direct, train, and manage field technicians, operators, and contract workers, fostering a high-performance culture on the floor.

How to Apply?
Role Summary
The Assistant Manager (O&M) functions as the System Reliability Lead for the Manepalli asset site. In a modern industrial facility, operational continuity directly dictates profitability.
You are responsible for translating broad corporate production targets into specific, daily maintenance plans. Your regular tasks involve auditing equipment health, managing technical vendor contracts, optimizing utility consumption, and leading root cause failure analyses (RCFA) when system breakdowns occur. You must possess a strong analytical mindset, leveraging enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms to monitor plant performance metrics and eliminate process waste.
Company Culture & Insights
Operating as an Assistant Manager at the Manepalli facility requires high professional accountability. The company balances a process-oriented structure with an agile problem-solving mindset.
Because the site relies on continuous processing timelines, teams maintain a collaborative atmosphere where engineering telemetry drives decisions. The plant leadership respects proactive initiative, data transparency, and objective risk analysis. This provides a supportive playground for mid-level managers looking to build complex technical leadership profiles.
Why We Recommend This Job
- Strategic Location Impact: The Anantapur region is emerging as an industrial node connecting Bengaluru and Chennai corridors. Managing a primary facility here offers significant professional visibility and fast-tracked progression.
- Comprehensive Operational Niche: This role provides ownership across multiple streams—including financial budgeting, hands-on engineering, and workforce governance—transforming you into a complete operations generalist.

Frequently Asked Interview Questions
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): “How do you calculate Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for a critical line asset? If an asset drops to an OEE of 65% due to high minor stop frequencies, what specific steps do you execute to resolve the bottleneck?”
Mathematical Context: OEE is the product of three distinct factor rates:
$$OEE = Availability \times Performance \times Quality$$
Inventory Strategy: “Explain your methodology for classifying engineering spares using ABC or VED (Vital, Essential, Desirable) analysis. How do you ensure you carry enough vital insurance spares without inflating your annual inventory holding costs?”
Root Cause Analysis: “Walk me through your concrete checklist for conducting a 5-Whys Analysis following a major electrical switchgear component failure. How do you distinguish between a temporary physical symptom and a deep systemic root cause?”
HSE Protocols: “An external contractor arrives to perform urgent hot-work maintenance near a chemical utility tank, but has failed to attach a completed lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) log to the main isolator breaker. How do you manage this situation immediately?”
Behavioral & Culture Questions
- Workforce Consensus Building: “Industrial environments feature multi-generational team structures, blending senior legacy technicians with incoming junior engineers. Describe a situation in your past where you successfully introduced a modern automated process or software tool to a team that resisted the update.”
- Managing Divergent Goals: “Tell me about a time when your maintenance schedule required shutting down a line for an essential overhaul, but the production team pressured you to bypass the maintenance window to hit a short-term output target. How did you navigate the conversation to arrive at a safe outcome?”
- Executing Under High Pressure: “Describe the most complex, high-stakes system breakdown you managed on an asset floor. Step-by-step, how did you organize your technicians under a tight timeline, track the repair progress, and communicate updates to senior plant leaders?”
