Job Description
The Production Engineering specialist will be responsible for line layout design, process optimization, assembly tooling evaluation, and cycle time reductions within the automotive manufacturing division. The candidate will utilize CAD/CAM platforms like AutoCAD and CATIA to design jigs, fixtures, and process workflows that ensure high operational efficiency and product quality.
Requirements & Required Skills
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or Automotive Engineering.
- Experience Level: 2 to 6 years of hands-on experience in automotive production or process engineering functions.
- CAD Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in Auto CAD and CATIA for 2D/3D component design, plant layout modeling, and fixture design.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing lines (Body Shop, Paint Shop, or Assembly Shop), Line Balancing, MOST/PFMEA, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Process Design & Optimization: Design, implement, and optimize assembly line processes, workstations, and material handling systems to maximize throughput.
- 2D/3D Modeling: Prepare engineering drawings, plant layouts, and fixture designs using AutoCAD and CATIA.
- Cycle Time & Line Balancing: Perform time studies, identify process bottlenecks, and optimize line balance to achieve target Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Tooling & Equipment Commissioning: Coordinate with vendors for the procurement, installation, and trial runs of manufacturing jigs, tooling, and automated machinery.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Prepare Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Control Plans to maintain automotive quality standards.
