Job Description

The Research Associate-1 will work on the ANRF-sponsored research project focusing on the synthesis and characterization of low-dimensional metal halide hybrid materials. Responsibilities include growing single crystals, executing doping/co-doping synthetic strategies, and conducting advanced optical spectroscopy (photoluminescence, time-resolved PL, UV-Vis) and crystallographic analyses to tune multi-excitonic emissions.

Requirements & Qualifications

1. Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Sciences.
  • Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of the degree are also eligible (must provide proof of submission).
  • Demonstrated evidence of high-quality research publications/output during or after the Ph.D. program.

2. Desirable Experience

  • Hands-on experience in growing single crystals of metal halide hybrid materials.
  • Strong expertise in crystallography and optical spectroscopy techniques:
    • UV-Vis Spectroscopy
    • Steady-state Photoluminescence (PL)
    • Time-Resolved Photoluminescence (TRPL)
    • Thermal/Thermogravimetric studies

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Synthetic & Material Design: Execute wet-chemical synthesis and crystal growth of low-dimensional metal halide organic-inorganic hybrids.
  2. Photophysical Characterization: Perform optical spectroscopy measurements, including UV-Vis, PL, and TRPL, to analyze excitonic kinetics and emission dynamics.
  3. Crystallographic & Thermal Analysis: Resolve crystal structures using X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques and assess thermal stability.
  4. Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze experimental datasets, assist in compiling project reports, and draft research manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
